To the best and greatest God.
The tomb of the freeborn man [Lapo] son of Bruno of the noble Formiconi family who when he lived for a long time and honorably after the year 1300 from the incarnation of Our Lord Jesus Christ was at rest in this place. Very recently however, his descendants, of so great an progenitor, [having rights after him] for the sake of loyalty, Baccio son of Ridolfo of Simone, Ridolfo son of Simone of Ridolfo of the first Simone, and also Simone and Piero brothers and sons of Lorenzagnolo son of the very same first Simone, restored the tomb. That same Simone was born from Giovanni son of Simone son of Giorgio son of Agostino son of Lapo the eldest.
presumed role based on incomplete evidence; for burials, we know the burial is in this church, we think it is in this tomb; for patronage and other relationships, there is evidence to suggest the connection, but it has not been confirmed
probably had this role; for burials, the individual is owner/heir, and/or spouse, parent, or child is interred here; no conflicting evidence that the person is buried elsewhere

maybe held this role; for burials, based on ancestry and/or generic inscription reference, the individual would have had burial rights, but no evidence has been found to confirm burial here

[j] ancestor Bruno Formicioni lived around this year and was buried in a tomb carrying his name
[k] It seems likely that Agostino was buried in his grandfather's tomb since he was named as ancestor the inscription installed at its restoration around 1600.
[l] Giorgio was named as a ancestor in the inscription added to the monument when it was renovated around 1600.
[m] Given that his son is one of the four restorers of the tomb ca. 1600, it seems quite likely that Ridolfo himself was buried there.
