Notes

  • [a] It is believed that the arms installed under the altar dedicated to the Annunciation and paid for by Chiaro d'Ardinghello ritagliatore di panni del popolo S. Friano belonged to his niece Dina Buonaseri, and her husband Bartolomeo Tifi. According to the Carmine's Libro Padronati, Dianora restored her uncle's chapel in 1440, though no record of her bequest can be found in their Libro de Oblighi. The Padronati notes that a record of her gift was recorded in their Entrate Vecchie under the year 1440.
  • [b] Given that both Rosselli and the Libro Padronati mention the arms, it seems that they survived the 1590 renovation of the Altar of the Annunciation but likely were burned up in the 1771 fire.
  • [c] Given that Dianora Buonaseri Tifi gave money to the Compagnia di S. Agnesa in 1440 to renovate the chapel built by her uncle Chiaro d'Ardinghello, it is likely that she made the request for the arms of her husband and herself.
