Notes

  • [a] According to Tigler (45, fig. 3D, no. 20), the Ognissanti altar stood in a second room of the sacristy next to the infirmary. The Registro Nuovo (Bent 1993, pp. 638-639, doc. 26-27) refers to the chapel as "of the infirmary" (la cappella dell'anfermeria nostra).
  • [b] Ser Franceschino di ser Berto da San Miniato, having no children, left his entire estate to the Camaldolese monastery and two Florentine confraternities, out of which 76 gold florins were spent for the altarpiece and altar furnishings (see Bent, 638, doc. 26; Tigler, 133n46).
  • [c] A new Ognissanti altar was erected in a small chapel to the west of the sacristy and altar of St. Catherine. See Tigler, p. 65, fig. 15, nos. 36 and 38.
  • [d] According to Tigler (133n46), a notation in the Registro Nuovo states that in 1598 the Ognissanti altar was torn down to make way for a new staircase to the dormitory.
  • [e] According to Tigler (2022, p. 47), the cult and masses celebrated at this Spini family altar were transferred to the new Ognissanti chapel after its foundation in 1365.
  • [f] According to Tigler (2022, p. 47), the cult and masses celebrated at this Spini family altar were transferred to the new Ognissanti chapel after its foundation in 1365.
