Notes

  • [] “CATTANI DA DIACCETO, Francesco” by Agnese Fantozzi in www.treccani.it/biografico
  • [a] Francesco da Ghiacceto was appointed bishop on August 11th, 1570, and he undertook the renovation of the cathedral's presbytery during his episcopate.
  • [b] A severe restoration in the late 19th century destroyed most traces of the presbytery as it had been renovated by Bishop Francesco da Ghiacceto.
  • [c] The sepoltuario reports that some of the da Ghiacceto arms adorning the presbytery were quartered with those of the Franzesi family.
  • [d] Monsignor Francesco Cattani da Diacceto renovated the high altar, and the family arms were in various places in the presbytery, some of them quartered with those of the Franzesi family.
