Notes

  • [a] It is not known when or how the Boni came to have patronage rights over the transept chapel, or what decoration they may have installed, but in 1486 Smeraldo and Andrea Boni sold their rights to Filippo Strozzi for 300 florins. Given that their father acquired a tomb in one of the convent's cloisters in 1430, it seems that the family would not have also had rights at the time to the transept chapel, or they surely would have installed a tomb there.
  • [b] Bono is the most likely candidate to have acquired the transept chapel. It passed to two of his sons, who sold it to Filippo Strozzi in 1486.
