  • [a] Stefano Rosselli noted that the Medici arms on this altar's altarpiece had eight balls.
  • [b] Given that Piero di Cosimo de'Medici sponsored the renovation of the church of S. Girolamo, it seems likely that he was also responsible for this altar of unknown dedication, especially considering that Stefano Rosselli described it as quite old (assai antica).
