Notes

  • [a] Stefano Rosselli noted a sepoltuario dated 1580 indicating that the Macci had been patrons of the high altar but that in 1657 there was no sign of them on the altar itself. He identified a coat of arms installed in the wall in the middle of the church, presumably carved of stone, as very old (assai antica) and belonging to the Macci. He surmised that after the family died out, these arms had been taken from the high altar and moved to the new location.
