  • [a] Stefano Rosselli used a sepoltuario dated 1580 to describe the altar as it was before the major renovations of the late sixteenth century.
  • [b] Though Rosselli did not identify the second coat of arms decorating the high altar, his description of a red double-headed eagle on a silver shield matches that of the Faffi family.
