  • [a] Neither della Foresta nor Rosselli were able to identify the arms painted on this altar's altarpiece, the second altar on the left from the church entrance. The first set is described by della Foresta as a gold shield (which he calls yellow) with two capital letter Gs in silver (white) on either side of a red diagonal band carrying with three silver crescent moons facing left following the direction of the bend. The other showed a red rampant lion carrying a club that della Foresta said was black or blue on a gold ground. The first arms were also sculpted in stone and placed high on the wall (alto nel muro) to the left of the altar.
