Notes

  • [a] The Bonini tomb is described as near the pulpit.
  • [b] The Stiozzi altar is described as toward the street (verso la strada), though it is unclear where in the church Francesco della Foresta and Rosselli meant.
  • [c] The tomb is described as in the middle of the church (nel mezzo di chiesa) near the side door (vicino alla Porta del Fianco).
  • [d] The altar is described as on the convent side of the church.
  • [e] The Corsellini are not mentioned among the tomb patrons in the 1609 sepoltuario. Stefano Rosselli found a reference to it in what he called a "sepoltuario piĆ¹ antico," perhaps meaning older than della Foresta's, that named them as having an altar in the church. It was likely replaced by one of the altars described in the 1609 sepoltuario.
  • [f] the church of San Giorgio was renovated by Giovan Battista Foggini from 1705 to 1708 and all the previous altars, tombs, and other decorations were removed
  • [g] The sepoltuarists guess that two unmarked chiusini near the high altar belonged to the nuns (credo sieno delle Monache).
