Though the Priorista Mariani records that the Salvucci family came to Florence from Scarperia, a municipality about 30 km northeast of Florence, the family's first prior Luca di Salvuccio used the toponym da Capraia, which is about 20 km west of Florence, suggesting the Priorista is in error. For now, Luca di Salvuccio barbiere da Scarperia is included in this clan, and he was known to have married in 1398 and settled in the parish of San Jacopo fra fossi with his wife Caterina, even though it is odd that Lucas di Salvuccio correggiaio da Capraia lived in the same gonfalon in 1402.
