Notes

  • [a] Luigi Passerini confused this Meglio di Giovanni with his half brother of the same name. The first Meglio was born to Caterina da Cepperello in 1511 as recorded by the tratte officials, but died just before his twelfth birthday in 1523. The second Meglio was born to Giovanni's second wife Alessandra Serristori, whom he married in 1524. Passerini says he established himself in Rome but provides no additional information save that he had no heirs.
  • [b] Passerini says that Meglio established himself in Rome and died without heirs. It is implied that he died there, which his absence in the Badia's necrology would seem to confirm.
