[a] Pandolfini family trees can be found among those compiled by Lorenzo Mariani, Giovanni Battista Dei, Giulio Ferdinando Pucci, all at the Archivio di Stato di Firenze, and Luigi Passerini, whose papers are kept at the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Firenze. Passerini compiled a family tree of six, large-format folios (vol. 156, no. 17) which formed the basis of his "Genealogia ed Istoria della Famiglia Pandolfini" written in 1849. This volume (46) contains the same six trees, each followed by short biographies of selected men in the family.
[c] Though Rinuccino has been identified as the earliest known Pandolfini ancestor, he would not have used the surname, which was based on the given name of his son Pandolfino.
[d] Though the monument carries the date November 19th, 1456, it was not completed until 1467.
[e] The Ambrogini tomb was used several times for Pandolfini family burials in the 1630s and 40s when the Pandolfini family tomb was full.
[f] These fourteen folios of bibliographic, historical, and genealogical notes on the Pandolfini family and six large-format family trees formed the basis of Passerini's 1849 Genealogia ed Istoria della Famiglia Pandolfini found in volume 46 of this same fondo.
