- [a] Though he was present in his father's household in 1427, Cristofano does not appear in the family tree kept in the Carte Mariani Dei, unless he took on his father's name as a nickname after his death. Born when his father was only twenty, Cristofano may therefore have been an illegitimate child or possibly died young without issue, which could explain his absence in the family tree. Unfortunately he does not appear in the Online Tratte or other sources consulted for the family.
