Adimari, Matteo di M. Donato di Duccio di Corso di M. Forese a

Description

The sources are very confused regarding the identity of the Matteo Adimari who died in 1422, with a few giving him the title of messer.

Trees in the Carte Mariani Dei and Carte Pucci give his father's name variously as messer Donato or messer Giovanni. His grandfather is given variously as messer Tedici or Duccio, while all seem to agree that his great-grandfather was Corso.

The trees also all agree that Matteo's children were Duccio, Saladino, Antonio, Dioneo, Domizio, and Donato.

Matteo's son Duccio filed his 1427 catasto declaration as Duccio di Matteo Adimari (vol. 81, fol. 482v.) His other sons filed together with their widowed mother Lisa (vol. 81, fol. 125) as the children of Matteo di messer Donato Adimari, a patronym repeated in the Tratte and baptismal record for Matteo's eponymous grandson Matteo d'Antonio di Matteo di messer Donato. The third insert in the Carte Mariani Dei confirms this lineage as Matteo di messer Donato di Duccio di Corso di messer Forese di messer Bellincione, though seems to confuse the patronym for this last, mistaking Bellincione di Uberto, whose only child was Gualdrada, for M. Bellincione di Forese.
