Notes

  • [a] According to Massimo Ceresa, Lucantonio named his sons Tommaso and Giovan Maria in his 1523 testament and requested burial in Santa Maria Novella where he may have installed his tomb by this time.
  • [b] Lucantonio died in Venice on April 3, 1533, and it would have taken at least a day or two to get his body back to Florence for burial.
  • [c] Lucantonio may have established his tomb around the time he wrote his will in Ferrara in 1523.
