Notes

  • [a] O'Brien (p. 63) indicates that Noferi was born by 1367 though she does not explain why.
  • [b] Nofri was drawn but not seated due to tax arrears on August 17th, 1414. He was dead when his name was next pulled on April 15th, 1417.
  • [c] He was drawn on April 20th, 1403 from a 1400 purse as Nofri di Romolo lastraiuolo.
  • [d] He was drawn on April 16th, 1410 from a 1405 purse as Nofri Romoli lastraiuolus.
  • [e] He was drawn from a 1409 purse on April 15th, 1413 as Nofri di Romolo lastraiuolo.
  • [f] Given that the tomb inscription noted the year (1384) but neither date, and that we know he lived until at least August 17th, 1414, Noferi was certainly the patron of this family tomb, preparing it not only for himself but for his descendants.
  • [g] There is no reason to think that Noferi was not buried in the tomb he had set up at Santissima Annunziata.
  • [h] According to O'Brien (p. 63), Noferi was originally from Settignano. The Priorista Mariani indicates the Bellevanti had come from Fiesole, and that Noferi's father Romolo was the head of the Florentine Branch of the family.
