Filius vero anno MCCCCXXXXIIII. obijt To the father and son, Palla Strozzi (alike in name, virtue, and glory), who had discharged every office in the Republic and had both been honored with equestrian rank, the son having served as military governor under Alfonso, king of Aragon, the father as civil governor among the Perugians, and both having served as ambassadors to other princes. Piero Strozzi, son of Pandolfo, erected this memorial so that equal fame might preserve them together in memory. The father died in the year of salvation 1407; the son, however, died in 1444.
