Notes

  • [a] This tomb is listed simply as "Messer Lotto" in the 1439 Santa Croce sepoltuario. The 1596 sepoltuario took the record "S. Domini Lotti" to mean that the grave belonged to the Lotti Family, whose tombs were in Santa Trinita and were not known to have either a lawyer or a knight in their family. Given Messer Lotto Salviati's fame, and other Salviati family burials in Santa Croce, it is not unreasonable to presume that this tomb in the friary's cemetery belonged to him.
