To Bartolomeo son of Lanfredino, a man of the utmost integrity, who, having been financial administrator of Pope Clement VII, was then admitted by the same to the senate of 48 men, the first established in Florence and employed to organize the Republic. And soon after, he was made financial administrator by the Dukes of Florence, Alexander and Cosimo de Medici, by whom he was made administrator of benefices and then sent to Pisa. He died in this magistracy in 1544.
Lanfredino and Jacopo, most sorrowful, placed [this plaque] by order of the will of their brother Antonio, referendary of both Apostolic Segnature. [Their father] lived 49 years.

  • [a] The chapel was built at the behest of Andrea di Cione da Bozzano who died in 1358.
  • [b] According to the Libro de Padronati, Bartolo di Dardo del Pace and Michele di Vanni da Bonazza, relatives of the chapel's founder fra Andrea da Bonazza, received permission to decorate the chapel and to place their coats of arms as they wished provided that all furnishings and ornament be provided at their own expense.

  • [d] Monsignor Antonio Lanfredini leaves funds for anniversary masses for his parents and himself. His brothers install a plaque in the chapel honoring him and their father.
