Notes

  • [a] Bartolommeo was among first the 48 senators elected in Florence as well as a trusted adviser to Pope Clement VII and dukes Alessandro and Cosimo de'Medici.
  • [b] Lanfredini died in Pisa on November 4th, 1544, and it presumably took some time to get his body back to the Carmine for burial. Given that his son Antonio established memorial masses for him on November 5th, this was likely the date of his burial.
  • [c] Though the plaque honoring Bartolomeo carries the year of his death in 1544, it was not installed until the death of his son Antonio in 1584 who left a bequest for the redemption of his soul and those of his parents.
  • [d] Bartolomeo was baptized from the parish of San Jacopo Soprarno on his birthday.
