Notes

  • [a] This Lanfredino d'Orsino is the most likely candidate as patron of the family tomb in the Carmine given that his grandson and namesake born in 1427 had no issue and does not appear in the Mansfield family tree.
  • [b] Orsino was registered as deceased when he was drawn for the Sixteen from a 1444 purse.
  • [c] Selvaggia died at or not long after the birth of her son Bartolomeo, and her husband remarried in 1500. It seems quite likely that she was buried in her husband's family tomb given her early death and possible lack of ability to draft a testament with alternate burial wishes.
  • [d] Given that his son Bartolomeo was buried in the family chapel, it seems quite likely that Lanfredino was as well.
  • [e] Lanfredini died in Pisa on November 4th, 1544, and it presumably took some time to get his body back to the Carmine for burial. Given that his son Antonio established memorial masses for him on November 5th, this was likely the date of his burial.
  • [f] Her son Antonio sponsored anniversary masses on the day of her death with his testament of 1584. Presumably she was also buried in the family tomb not far from the chapel where priests would pray for her soul.
