Notes

  • [a] According to the sources, the Benvenuti-Nobili tomb was quite worn and illegible by the late sixteenth century. Cristina Cheli reports that in 1760, Giovanni di Lorenzo Nobili undertook to restore his ancestral tomb at the death of his infant daughter Gaetana on 19 August 1760.
  • [b] Because of its position near a door in the right aisle, the Nobili tomb once again was quite worn down and was renewed around 1907 to the form it takes today.
