Jesus the Christ
To Domenico Corsi, son of Francesco, generous benefactor of Camaldolese monks, who quickly in the year 1404, in the monastery of Saint Benedict outside the walls, endowed and decorated a chapel of Saint Anthony Abbot appointed for his family. Bartolo his son took care that another chapel to Saint Martin be built in the same monastery, which having been destroyed in the last siege, the monks caused the image and useful sacred vessels to be removed here to the Angels. Mauro Corsi, presently Abbot Antonio, son of Camillo, born from the straight descent of the said Domenico, with the favor obtained from his brother Giovanni out of his bequest, living and thinking about death, here where he accepted the spirit of the inner man, now to the entrusted redeemer in this dust if it will please God, he laid out a tomb for his dust and ashes and for others of the Corsi family in the year 1656. |
