[a] Castello di Piero Quaratesi was buried at his death on July 19th, 1465 in the Franciscan church under his sponsorship on the monte alle Croci that would be rebuilt at the end of the fifteenth century.
[b] Given that Castello died several decades before the completion of the church and tomb paid for with his bequest, he must have been put in a tomb of unknown form and decoration at the time of his death.
