Salviati, Caterina di M. Francesco di M. Lotto di Mag. Salvi (uxor Goro di Jacopo Strozzi)

Description

Caterina, daughter of messer Francesco di messer Lotto Salviati and wife of Goro di Jacopo Strozzi, stated in her will of 1382 that she wanted to be buried at Santa Maria Novella. The friary's necrology, copied by Stefano Rosselli, confirms that she was buried in the church the next year, dressed in the Dominican habit. Her final resting place was likely in the tomb set up for her father-in-law and his brothers and their children and descendants.
