[a] Pompeo Litta credits Tommaso with founding the chapel of his namesake in at the end of the transept of Santa Maria Novella. There is no reason to doubt that he was buried in one of the tombs associated with it, though precisely which one is difficult to say.
[b] The necrology of Santa Maria Novella indicates that Carlo died in Imola and was brought back to Florence for an honorable burial, dressed in the habit of the order. It is not clear whether 9 March 1384 was his date of death or date of burial, but Imola is about 60 miles northeast of Florence and would require at least two days bring the body to the church. Given that the necrology served as a means to remember anniversaries, March 9 is most likely his date of death.
[c] The inscription states that the three gravesites set up under the Strozzi family chapel were for the sons of Rosso Strozzi and their descendants and wives.
