XV For Michelangelo Buonarotti, from the ancient family of the Simoni, sculptor, painter, and architect with fame, most noted to all, Leonardo, for his most beloved paternal uncle, and according to his great merit, with his bones translated to this great temple and placed in the tomb of his family with the encouragement of the most serene Cosimo de' Medici Grand Duke of Tuscany, he took care that this tomb be placed in the year of salvation 1570. He lived 88 years, 11 months, 15 days.
