[a] According to the Registro Nuovo, fol. 36v (Bent 1993, doc. 2), don Michele Ghiberti, having joined the monastery in 1348, died "die mensis Martii 1400," which is 1401 according to the modern calendar.
[b] According to the Registro Nuovo, fol. 36v (Bent 1993, doc. 2), don Michele Ghiberti resigned his post as prior due to his old age and infirmity on April 28th, 1398. He died a little less than three years later.
[c] The Registro Nuovo documents don Michele's death in the convent, and he surely was buried in one of the monks' tombs in the chapter room.
[d] Michele's profession record at the monastery of Santa Maria Novella gives the parish of San Michele in Palchetto as his home prior to joining the Camaldolese order. See Bent 1993, p. 609, fol. 36v.
