  • [a] After the parish church was demolished, its title was transferred to Cestello Nuovo on the Arno (former S. Maria degli Angioli), and the church became known as S. Frediano in Cestello.
  • [b] Because of its importance and antiquity, San Frediano was named as one of 12 priories among the original 48 parishes established at the start of the commune.
  • [c] The nuns were transferred to Monticelli in 1783.
